Ribes uva crispa Pax

Height: 0,4–0,5 m

One of the mainstays of British gardens. A deciduous shrub with a strong, spreading crown that grows to 1.5 m in height and 1 m in width. It blooms in April-May. Its flowers are a favorite of bees. Its tasty red fruit ripens in late July. Gooseberry is a rich source of vitamins A and C. It likes fertile, well-drained soil and a sunny, sheltered spot. If grown as a bush, prune it every year to maintain an open, bowl-like shape, which makes picking easier.
